As founder of Six A.M. Media, Catina brings over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, with a passion for storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices. Her career began with Atlanta Olympic Broadcasting during the 1996 Olympic Games, a role that sparked her journey into production.She transitioned into music video production, contributing to over 50 projects for renowned artists like Whitney Houston, Outkast, and Kelly Clarkson, before expanding into feature films and television. Catina has worked on acclaimed productions, including 20th Century Fox’s Drumline, Sony Screen Gems’ Stomp the Yard, and multiple Tyler Perry Studios projects, such as the groundbreaking House of Payne series. Her credits also include Lifetime Network’s Devious Maids, Disney’s Kindred series, and BET’s Ms. Pat Show and Kingdom Business.An accomplished filmmaker, Catina has produced six feature-length documentaries, as well as award-winning short films like Clandestine and Standing Reign. A graduate of UCLA’s Producers Program, she continues to develop thought-provoking and culturally relevant content.Most recently, Catina participated in the Shondaland & Netflix Producer’s Inclusion Initiative, further solidifying her commitment to creating impactful stories. With the launch of Six A.M. Media, she aims to inspire transformation, spark meaningful conversations, and build safe spaces for communities to thrive.
Eric Hart Jr., a Georgia native and NYU graduate, is a writer and multidisciplinary artist creating within the artistic mediums of photography and collage. As a photographer, Hart’s stylized portraiture is an exploration of Blackness and queerness. His visual language is heavily influenced by the notion of rejecting control. Through themes of power, freedom, performance, and historical representation, Hart strives to foster consciousness for audiences as he displays people like himself in all of their power and beauty. Hart’s photo work has been in publications such as i-D Magazine, The NY Times, The Washington Post, and Rolling Stone magazine, as well as praised by artists such as Beyoncé and Spike Lee. Hart is a two-time Gordon Parks scholar, 2022 Forbes 30 under 30 Art & Style honoree, 2022 Doritos SOLID BLACK Changemaker, and a Google Image Equity Fellow. In 2023 Hart released his first monograph titled “When I Think About Power”.
Sydney Laws is a writer and researcher from Atlanta, Georgia. She honed her craft at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where she merged her passion for storytelling with cultural anthropology. Sydney previously worked as a Creative Producer at the Emmy award-winning interactive studio The Skin Deep, where she led their relationship docu-series. In recent years, she has dedicated herself to freelance cultural research, contributing to documentaries, biopics, and multimedia performances to better represent underrepresented communities using ethnographic insight. She most recently served as a researcher and writer’s assistant on adaptations of Octavia Butler’s Kindred for FX and the Wicked novels for Hulu. She was a finalist in the 2024 Blacklist/WIF Episodic Lab, the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator, and the Austin TV Pitch Competition, and was also selected as a mentee for Jacque Cofer in the Unlock Her Potential program and the TRIBE Writer’s Fellowship.
